About Us

Dr. David Hurd, professor of Astronomy and Meteorology at the Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, is responsible for managing the design and production of tactile material for Haptically Speaking. Here is a little bit of information about Dr. Hurd:

• - He has twin sons with cerebral palsy, which motivates his work for students with special needs.
• - Dr. Hurd works with Dr. Cass Runyon from the College of Charleston and a team of others to produce the resources on this site.
• - In addition to being a professor Edinboro University, he also serves as the Planetarium Director at the Edinboro University of Pennsylvania's Planetarium
